Seaview Community Fund
Welcome back for a new season in Seaview from The Seaview Community Fund, Inc.!
Because there are so many new Seaview residents and because it never hurts to remind our long-term residents of who the Fund is, and what we do for the Community, this is the primary mission of The Seaview Community Fund.
To support the Doctor’s office by providing up-to-date equipment and services for the office.
To contribute to the beautification of the community and natural habitats.
To provide support for our seniors.
To provide and organize cultural and entertainment events.
To support connections between neighboring communities To protect our native flora and fauna.
To create a Seaview Historical Society.
We’re a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and all collected funds go back to preserving our mission and enabling special events. Donations are welcome and are tax-exempt.
Some events are free of charge and some are fundraisers that allow us to continue our mission. View our Calendar of Events below.
We’ve been serving the Seaview Community since our incorporation in 1999. Just some of our most notable accomplishments have been:
The recent purchase of a new EKG machine, computer hardware and software and an electric cart for the Doctor’s use. And, we’re always ready to fund what’s needed,
As a contribution to the beautification of the community, we’ve enabled the creation of the Seaview Memorial Garden, as well as the complete renovation of the Bay Beach.
To support our seniors, we purchased a cart to provide transport to and from the ferry as well as an intra-community shuttle service.
We organize outdoor movies on the Bay Beach and have staged many, many musical and other entertainment events.
Recently, we held an outdoor children’s Punch and Judy puppet show (to great acclaim) and a magic show on the Bay Beach.
For the children’s Shakespearean productions, we provide costumes, sound equipment and production costs.
We printed the now-famous Seaview Cookbook
We contributed to the Hurricane Relief upgraded systems for the Ocean Bay Park and Ocean Beach Fire Departments as well as to the Hurricane Relief Ocean Beach Community Fund.
For the traditional Labor Day Cookout (with all-you-can-eat food and drink) we provide music and organize a live raffle for this great end-of-season community event.
Welcome Back dinners, BYOB Sunset Friday Cocktails on The Dock and the always popular House and Garden Tours are also funded highlights.
And…we proudly serve as Custodians of a property guaranteed to remain forever wild.
We are a completely volunteer-run organization and are always looking for new members. Commitment can be for one project, one hour, or one summer. Your participation on the committee would provide us with new suggestions for programs, projects, and events. All suggestions are welcome!

Calendar of Events
It's official! The Seaview season has begun.
Your Community Fund has been hard at work planning a calendar of events for the summer and here are some of the highlights:
To start us off, we’re inviting everyone in Seaview to a “Lox by The Docks” event to be held at the Memorial Garden on Saturday, June 26th from 9:00-11:00. We want all our neighbors, old and new, to get to meet each other and not be strangers. Posters and flyers at the Seaview Market have all the details.
For the past few summers, we’ve had a well-attended Gentle Yoga on The Bay Beach and it will continue July and August. Days and times to be posted.
For the kids, we have our puppeteer par excellence returning with an entirely new show on Saturday the 13th of August. Last year, the magic show at the Bay Beach was such a success that Magic Jeff will return with a new program. Watch for flyers, posters, and emails with details.
A highlight of the season will be a “Bill Mays: Back by Popular Demand” jazz piano concert, Saturday, July 16th. This will be Bill’s third performance here and he generously donates his time and not inconsiderable talent to raise money for The Seaview Community Fund. It will, again, be graciously hosted at the home of Diane Charlap. Because this is a fundraising event and a proven hit, we are offering sponsorships which would include two indoor tickets for $1,000. This would include access for two additional guests at $100 each. Outdoor seating tickets will be $50 each, and seating and sponsorships are limited. There will be an open bar.
Plans are still in the works for the community gathering “Sunsets on the Docks” —an informative historical Seaview panel about “the good old days” and a “Moth-like” storytelling event.
Last, but never least, is the Labor Day Cookout and raffle, to be held this year on September 3rd. We are looking for residents to consider what high-quality item or service they can contribute to benefit the community.
So far, that’s it for this season, but there may be more to come. You never know!
