The Boat Basin Project, with our Seaview staff doing all the work, has also been going well. Construction has been continuing on the north side of the basin. The applications for slips went out already, so any Seaview resident
who would like one for this coming summer should contact us immediately.

The Bay Beach Renovation project is proceeding ahead of schedule.(as of November 2011) After the pool area was excavated to the proper shape and depth, the plumbing was put in place and a framework grid with 3/8-inch steel reinforcing rods (rebar) constructed. The rebar rods are spaced about 10 inches apart, and secured together with wire. The project was inspected by Suffolk County Department of Health on Friday 10/21, and approval was given to proceed with the next stage. The pool crew will now spray 8-10 inches of gunite (a mixture of cement and sand) around the rebar to form the ‘shell’ of
the pool. The coping will then be put on after the gunite cures and hardens. In the spring, the gunite will be ‘finished’ with the application of a layer of marlite. Attached are pictures of the framework and rebar.
